    • Uniform Format for Disclosure of Competing Interests in ICMJE Journals

      • Description: Editorial introducing a new Potential Conflicts of Interest disclosure form  that has been adopted by all ICMJE   member journals. Authors are asked to disclose 4 types of information: 1) associations with commercial entities that provided support for the work reported in the submitted manuscript; 2) Associations with commercial entities that could be viewed as having an interest in the general area of the submitted manuscript; 3) Any similar financial associations involving their spouse or their children under 18 years of age; 4) Nonfinancial associations that may be relevant to the submitted manuscript.
 
    • Society for Neuroscience Guidelines for Responsible Conduct in Scientific Communication

      • Description: Provides guidelines on writing, editing, and reviewing peer-reviewed manuscripts; submission of abstracts to scientific meetings; and presentations to the lay public. Based on guidelines developed by the American Chemical Society and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. Guidelines include: 1) Authors of Research Manuscripts; 2) Reviewers of Manuscripts; 3) Editors of Scientific Journals; 4) Abstracts for Presentations at Scientific Meetings; 5) Communications Outside the Scientific Literature; 6) Dealing with Possible Scientific Misconduct.
